| Folks, I'm gonna take a detour, sorry. If you want to read through the past topics: Dating Interpretation Sin "Gay" Single Trust/Promises |
| The reason I'm taking the detour is because ONE of you refuses to email me. Insisting on sending instant messages. When you do that, the response from you gets lost when my computer reboots. But I wanted to single you out not for that reason, but for this: You insist that as a Christian, your actions in the flesh have no consequences and that you may willfully sin your tooshie off. I pray you don't take offense: I mean none, Sir. I'm going to post the latest IM I got from you. I want to do this to illustrate your point and the correction. Most, if not all, of your responses have this same point.... Let's see: |
| "porter guess what? here i"ll just tell u that all things are lawful well thats what paul said anyway that means one thing and one thing onlyhe dident say some things are lawful or just the good things are lawful he said ALL THINGS ARE`LAWFUL! but just cuz he said that doesnt mean i sleep with a thousand chicks either if i could i would but remember that though ALL THINGS ARE LAWFUL!
JUST BECUASE NOT ALL THINGS ARE PROFITABLE DOESENT MEAN ITS NOT LAWFUL. im always here to throw a monkey wrench in ur wheels becuase ur understanding is still of the world, give it some real deep thought though." |
| Let me help you there, and complete your quote so that you fully understand that which you quoted. 1Corinthians 10:23 "Everything is permissible"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"--but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others. Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience," See, you left out part, to better serve your viewpoint! Here are more that can help you understand what you omitted from the Word: Romans 6:1:" What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?" Ephesians 5:8 "For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light." Colossians 3:5 "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips." Romans 1:32 "Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them." Isaiah 5:20 "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil..." 1Corinthians 5:9 "I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people-- not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat...Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were" |
| Keep the responses coming, Sir. I desire to illustrate the religion of the world so that others may learn from you and I. Learn the truth of the Word of God. Please email your responses from now on, as the Instant Messages tend to get lost. I'm not posting anybody else's responses here, to simplify the discussion. The copious emails so far have generally been in love and supportive of you, wanting you to understand and be enlightened. Some have even been in support of your views. Keep the love and emails coming, folks! We both appreciate it amd love y'all. In light of all of this, Jesse, I am still not saying this to offend you, or as you've said, "...to throw a monkey wrench in your wheels..." I am trying to help you understand the truth, so that you and I may run that race and both finish in the Lord and hear those lovely words for which we've raced, "Well done, good and faithful servant..." |
| "LIKE I SAID ANYTHING THAT IS NOT OF FAITH IS SIN PORTER.
THAT MEANS ANYTHING" |
| One last quote from you, Sir: |
| Are you stating that homosexuality, murder, adultery, or any other sin can be somehow commited in Faith? That if a man lives in sin, it's not actually sin because God died for ours sins, and that man claims to be living in Faith, not sin? So the sinner, who claims to have accepted Christ and His work on the cross, yet does not repent of his sin and lives in that sin, willfully denying the Word of God and denying God, receives the gift of eternal life? God told us that he who hears the Word but does not His will, will not share in the Tree of Life. Works do not produce salvation, but salvation/grace produces good works. It's called "Fruits of the Spirit". The Spirit will not produce sinful fruits. Whether of the flesh or of the Spirit, as you said, all sin is not of Faith. A fleshly sin is a willful denial of the Spirit. Unrepentant sinners have no faith. We are saved by Grace alone, through Faith alone in Christ alone. Without Faith, there is no acceptance of Christ's Grace/Salvation. As you said, anything that is not of Faith, and that means anything, is sin. Unless you feel that perversion (homosexuality), murder, rape, adultery, theft, etc, can be commited in Faith, as good fruits of the Spirit, then sin is still sin and does not belong in the Body, the Church. The Word of God tells us how to deal with those who call themselves Brothers, yet live in these sins: 1Corinthians 5:9 (up above). |
